We all read, when we start dieting, about how weight loss is about calories in, calories out. We also read about how 1 lb of fat equals 3,500 calories, and we need a deficit of that amount to equal 1 lb of weight loss. We read that fruits and vegetables are low in calories, and we should stock up on these, and not higher calorie fatty foods. We learn that sugar is the devil and we should avoid it at all costs. And that eating a candy bar will stall our progress for a while. If more than just the one, we go straight to diet hell.
Well, as I said first thing, I'm sick of it. I'm going to send myself straight to diet hell, and I'm going to do it intentionally. I'm going to only eat candy for at least the next two weeks. And I'm going to blog about it.
Just to clarify; I'm still trying to lose weight, I'm just not going to do it in a 'healthy' way any longer. I'm starting with a two(possibly three) day fast, to 'jump start' my weight loss. After that, I'll eat 1,200-1,500 calories a day of candy or junk food. I'll pick 1 type of candy for each day, and blog my progress along the way.
The anticipated advantages:
- Loss of junk food cravings
- Most candies come with calorie and nutrition information, so calorie awareness is easy
- 'Cheating' (eating real food instead) isn't seen as horrible
- My stomach capacity is likely to shrink, as 1,200 calories of any candy is much smaller than 1,200 calories of fruits and veggies(which I have currently been trying to eat a lot of)
- Generally healthier mental state. I won't hate myself for eating sweets.
- Less binging, as there are no 'forbidden foods'.
- Vitamin deficiency
- Chances of overeating possibly higher
- Boredom with limited food choices
- Cavities (eep!)
